4 Contact Hour CEs

5-9 PM

Location: 2135 SE 76th Ave, Portland, OR 97215

One of my most requested topics, scoliosis presents the manual therapist with some interesting challenges. This workshop will be focused on getting a basic understanding of spine and rib cage anatomy and mechanics before moving on to understand how scolisis affects these regions specifically. Indications, contraindications and considerations for Integrative Bodywork for scoliosis will be covered. We will explore spinal movement and breathing assessments as well as several bodywork techniques for freeing the structures most commonly affected by scoliosis. Since the techniques and concepts covered are based on spinal mechanics common to every spine they are helpful for ALL spines so these techniques can be beneficial for a vast majority of clients.
