Location: 2135 SE 76th Ave, Portland, OR 97215
The “Cold” Shoulder: A Deep Dive into Shoulder Mobility, Pathology, Assessment and Integrative Bodywork.
Frozen shoulder (or 50 year-old-shoulder) is a description that gets used to decribe any mobility problem in the shoulder. However, not every shoulder mobility problem is the same or needs the same treatment. This workshop aims to take a deeper look at the anatomy of the shoulder joint and explore common mobility pathologies seen in a manual therapy practice. In this 4 hour workshop we will explore essential screens and assessments to better understand the issue at hand and when/where/how we can work and when we should refer out. We will then explore integrative bodywork techniques for the muscles and fascia surrounding the shoulder and the rotator cuff. As always, we will explore sustainable body mechanics techniques that are less demanding on the therapist’s body.
